About Us
Our Finstergrub horse farm is located at the foot of the Hochgründeck on the sunny side, with a wonderful view of the entire Salzach valley. Around our farm there are many meadows, forests and a lot of unspoilt nature. The beautiful small town of St. Johann im Pongau in the centre of SalzburgerLand is not far away and you can reach restaurants and grocery shops very quickly.
At our farm, nature and our animals take centre stage. We have a relationship with every animal. Our Noriker breeding and riding lessons (not automatically includet, it depends on time availability) on the farm are a great passion. There is also a riding parlour where you can always meet like-minded people. You are welcome to help with grooming the horses or with our stable work (only under supervision and depending on time availability)
The holiday flat was newly built and furnished to a very high standard. The furniture was made in our own carpentry workshop. It is perfect for families or couples.
In summer you can enjoy your time with us on the farm. There is always something going on. Or you can hike directly from the farm and explore the surrounding area on foot. Our adventure mountains in the surrounding area also provide entertainment. In bad weather, the children can spend time in our playroom or take a trip to the Mozart city of Salzburg - it's not far away.
In winter, a skiing holiday at our farm is very close by. The ski lift is only 5 km away from us. St. Johann is part of Ski Amadé. That means you get 210 km of fun on the piste. Of course, all other winter sports are also possible here. Whether ski touring, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, with the right equipment in your luggage you are very flexible with us.

Home-distilled schnapps for tasting.
- Flora, Fiona, Felina and Lucy are our Noriker broodmares. They will have their foals at the beginning of the year, which are of course very popular with the children.
- Zenz and Nubi are our two geldings.
- Bounty und Calla are our german classic ponies. They love to be taken for a walk and to be groomed. It´s also possible to take a ride (for small kids and depends on the time of the farmer´s)
- Fortuna, Freya and Fabiola are our young horses from our offspring.
- Riding lessons are available (depends on the time of the farmer´s, not automatically includet) in our riding arena (lunging/free riding/ground work). You will get an insight into horse keeping (feeding/mucking) and horse care (cleaning, saddling, grooming, fetching from paddocks and bringing out again).
- Riding and grooming is only possible under supervision (depends on the time of the farmers´s. It is not automaticaly included.)
- Rocco and Fin are our two black Pinzgauer oxen.
- Aaron the farm dog and the two cats Shila and Elasa guard our farm.
- Our flock of chickens is led by Bertl the cockerel and provide us with eggs.
- And then there are our three exotic animals, the tortoises: Schildi, Speedy and Frida.
