About Us
Our holiday apartment Oberhöfern is located at 768 meters above sea level in a quiet, sunny location in Faistenau in the Fuschlsee region in the Salzburger Land. Here you live surrounded by greenery and enjoy the view of our farm, the surrounding meadows and the mountains of the Osterhorn group. The 65 m² holiday apartment is ideal for two people.
Our farm is run as an organic hay-milk dairy farm. From your holiday apartment you can get an insight into daily farm life. Calves, chickens and cats are on the farm all year round. Our dairy cows spend the summer months on our own alpine pasture. You can also visit our alpine pasture area on the Ladenbergalm. In the garden you will find a trampoline and a children's pedal tractor.
In summer, our farm is an ideal starting point for hikes, bike rides and excursions in the Fuschlsee region. Directly from the holiday apartment you can explore various circular hiking trails, including the paths around the Kugelberg and Kühberg as well as the agricultural educational trail. The well-developed and signposted hiking and biking network offers tours in various levels of difficulty. Whether a leisurely bike ride to the lake or a challenging mountain tour – there is something for everyone here. After an active day, the Hintersee invites you to swim and relax. It is located just a five-minute drive from our farm and is also easily accessible by bus. The bus stop is located in the immediate vicinity. This makes it easy to take a trip to the Mozart city of Salzburg or to Bad Ischl.
In winter, Faistenau offers the best opportunities for cross-country skiing, winter hiking and snowshoeing. The cross-country ski trail is located in the immediate vicinity of our holiday apartment. Faistenau is particularly famous for its extensive network of trails. You can also enjoy the snowy landscape and the sunny location of our village during a leisurely winter walk.
Farm products and catering
You can get fresh organic hay milk around the clock from our milk vending machine. During your stay, you can also try our farm's own milk. There are also organic eggs from our chickens.
Animals
Our farm is home to calves, chickens and cats all year round. Our dairy cows spend the summer months on our own alpine pasture.

What would you like to do during your holiday? The six villages Fuschl am See, Faistenau, Hintersee, Hof bei Salzburg, Ebenau and Koppl stand for a great diversity. Would you like to bake bread with the farmer in the old mill “Rumingmühle” in Fuschl? How about enjoying freshly caught trout or jumping into Lake Fuschlsee after a demanding tour on your racing bike? Do you prefer watching sunrise on the mountain Schober or visit the theatre performance of “Jedermann” underneath a 1,000 year-old linden tree in Faistenau? You can also explore the Salzkammergut region on an e-bike, take a refreshing stroll through the “ice chapel” (“Eiskapelle”) in Hintersee on a hot summer’s day or go on a trip to the city of Salzburg. In winter, you can get some exercise on the 140 km of cross-country ski trails, in the family-friendly ski resort “Gaißau-Hintersee”, on the slopes with your toboggans and sledges or - if the weather is fine - on frozen Lake Fuschlsee with your ice skates on. You’ll wish you could stay longer!
