Ferienhof Sonne - summer retreat in the middle of the mountains
Get out of the daily grind and into the tranquillity of the mountains: a picture-book summer awaits you at Ferienhof Sonne - with peacefully grazing cows, the sound of cowbells and the scent of fresh hay in the air.
Hiking, cycling and mountain bike trails start right in front of the house - far away from the hustle and bustle and yet very close to enjoyment. After the tour, enjoy a hearty snack in the surrounding mountain huts or a culinary excursion to Hittisau, where regional specialities, award-winning cuisine and products straight from the producer await you.

Embedded in unspoilt nature, surrounded by silence and vastness, your winter adventure begins right on the doorstep: whether cross-country skiing on 40 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails between Balderschwang and Hittisau, skiing in the nearby family ski area in Balderschwang or snowshoeing through the glistening winter landscape - here you can experience winter at its best.
If you prefer a more leisurely pace, start your ski tour right behind the house or simply enjoy the peace and quiet with a view of the snow-covered mountains.
After an active day in the snow, you can relax in our in-house sauna and bring the day to a cosy close.
And when you work up an appetite? Then regional delicacies await you in Hittisau, culinary delights from producers to award-winning cuisine - close by and full of flavour.

Travelling to us by public transport is very easy!
Thanks to the Bregenzerwald & Großes Walsertal Guest Card, you can use the buses free of charge from 3 overnight stays in summer!
Travelling by bus:
- The bus stop is right in front of our house
- The Landbus 820 runs every half hour from Bregenz to Hittisau, the Landbus 850 runs every hour from Dornbirn to Hittisau. From there, bus 46 runs every 2 hours in the direction of Balderschwang.
Travelling by train:
- The nearest railway station in Dornbirn is approx. 28 km away
- You can get to us from the railway station by bus
- Trains normally run once an hour on weekdays and once an hour at weekends and on public holidays.
Catering services on the farm and in the surrounding area:
- At our farm you can get hay milk from our cows. The baker delivers fresh bread rolls every day.
- The SPAR grocery shop, the butcher's shop and the dairy in Hittisau are all around 7 km away.
- All inns and restaurants are also located in the centre of Hittisau.
- Balderschwang is around 5 kilometres away. Here you will also find everything you need for your daily needs.
