May we introduce you to our lovingly partially renovated, yet rustic farmhouse. This self-catering house offers space for groups or families of up to 16 people and combines traditional charm with modern comfort.

Our self-catering house:
The old farmhouse has been renovated with a lot of heart and retains its original, cosy style. It has six bedrooms, a spacious farmhouse parlour with tiled stove and stove bench as well as a comfortable kitchen with sitting area and wood-burning stove.

First floor:
Here you will find five double rooms and one four-bed room (sufficient pull-out couches and extra beds also available).

Ground floor:
The rustic farmhouse parlour with tiled stove and stove bench invites you to eat, drink and laugh together. There is a well-equipped kitchen with wood-burning stove, oven, electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, bread slicer, kettle, coffee machine and a complete kitchen inventory for large groups. On the ground floor there is also a pantry, an entrance hall, a bathroom with two showers and two separate toilets.

In summer, the extensive hiking area around the Hochkönig starts right on the doorstep. Whether beginner or professional, nature lover or via ferrata enthusiast - there is a suitable hike for everyone. There are also many animals on our farm that are happy to be petted.

Experience the most precious days full of romantic nostalgia in our self-catering hut anno 1679. When the firewood crackles in the tiled stove and everyone gathers in the parlour to eat, drink and laugh, you will experience relaxed and peaceful moments that you would like to have more often.

We look forward to welcoming you here!
With us you can rediscover the ‘rustic’ and ‘live like in grandmother's time’.

Best regards,

Animals

At Elmaugut in Mühlbach, life with animals is simply part of everyday life. Our animal residents are looking forward to meeting you and making your farm holiday a special experience.

Our two farm dogs, Dana and Fips, are among the first to warmly welcome our guests. In summer, you can spot many of our animals in the meadows around the farm. Our Normande dairy cows spend their days in the lush meadows, enjoying the fresh grass. They return to the barn twice a day for milking.

Our Noriker horses, young cattle and calves, goats and sheep also call the area around Elmaugut home. A very special member of our animal family is our Noriker stallion Zukunft Schaunitz XVIII.

Right on the farm, you will also find our cats, rabbits, pigs, peacocks and chickens, who are always happy to see curious visitors and receive the occasional cuddle.

In winter, our animals spend most of their time in the cosy barn. This is when there is plenty to do: feeding, caring for and looking after the animals is an important part of our daily farm life.

Every day at 4:00 pm, it’s time to head to the barn, where all the animals are cared for and the cows are milked. Guests are very welcome to lend a hand and get an authentic insight into everyday life on the farm. Children in particular can experience farm life up close by helping to feed the rabbits and cats or collecting fresh eggs.

Whether watching the animals in the meadows, cuddling our cats or lending a hand in the barn – our animal family is an important part of life at Elmaugut and makes a farm holiday a special experience for the whole family.

By Car
From Munich or Salzburg:
Take the A10 Tauern Motorway towards Villach and exit at Bischofshofen. Follow the B164 towards Mühlbach am Hochkönig. Continue along the main road. At the end of the village, you will find the Karbachalm cable car station on the left and the Gasthof Lederer on the right. From there, it is approximately another 2 km to our house, which is located on the right-hand side of the road.

Toll-free route:
Take the A8 from Munich towards Salzburg and exit at Traunstein/Siegsdorf. Continue via the B306, B305 and B311 to Saalfelden.

Alternatively, travel via Rosenheim, Kufstein Süd, St. Johann/Tirol and Saalfelden.

Our house is located approximately 3 km after the Dientner Sattel mountain pass, on the left-hand side. This route does not require an Austrian motorway vignette.

In winter, we recommend carrying snow chains and appropriate winter equipment.

By Plane
The nearest airports are Salzburg and Munich. There are daily nonstop flights from Hamburg to Salzburg, from where the Hochkönig region can be reached in approximately one hour by car or train.
