Enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. Breitenwang is the starting point for wonderful alpine and mountain tours, cycling tours of all difficulty levels, hikes to Lake Plansee and Lake Heiterwanger, to the Ehrenberg Castle Ruin with the Highline 179, and to the castles of King Ludwig. In summer, the surroundings offer many leisure opportunities, such as swimming, hiking, climbing, mountaineering, or mountain biking. The nearby crystal-clear mountain lakes such as Lake Urisee, Lake Plansee, Lake Heiterwanger, or Lake Frauensee are natural jewels that you should definitely visit. The Alpentherme Ehrenberg offers fun and swimming pleasure in any weather. A ride with the cable car up to the Hahnekamm, a hike to the Dürrenbergalm, to the Stuiben Waterfalls, or a stage on the Lechweg trail - our Dorfhof is a central starting point for many hikes, bike tours, climbing in the high ropes course, and much more. The AKTIV CARD, which you receive free of charge during your stay, offers you many free and discounted opportunities to make your summer holiday in the nature park region an eventful experience.

About Us
…our village is located in the vicinity (15 minutes accessibility) of nice family ski areas – Reuttener Hahenkamm in Höfen, Waldrastlift in Ehenbichl, Bichlbacher Bergbahn with connection to the Berwangertal. There are also very professional ski schools available for learning or consolidating skills for alpine skiing or snowboarding. The cross-country ski trail network of the Nature Park Region starts in the immediate vicinity of our farm. An extensive network for skaters and classic cross-country skiers, available in various difficulty levels, is groomed daily and awaits our guests. The cross-country ski trail at Plansee is also highly recommended.
Two rental sleds are available at our village farm for all sledding enthusiasts.
The "Stocksporthalle" (ice stock sport hall) in the village transforms in winter – thanks to artificial ice – into an ice stock sport and ice skating center. Opening hours can be found on the municipal website "Gemeinde Breitenwang".
The AKTIV CARD of the Reutte Nature Park Region offers you many free and discounted activities, which you receive free of charge during your stay. With snowshoeing, ice stock sport, alpaca walks, or castle hikes, you can make your stay an eventful experience.
Farm products and catering
Regional delicacies such as yogurt, milk, cheese, sausages, meat, fish, schnapps, honey, pasta, eggs, jams and much more, produced by the farmers from the region themselves, can be found in the farm shop in Reutte. Honey from our bees can be purchased from us, subject to availability.
Animals
The White Tyrolean Mountain Sheep is a medium to large sheep with a narrow, Roman-nosed, woolly-foreheaded, hornless head with long, flat pendulous ears (corner of the mouth). Well-proportioned body parts, with a deep body, well-sprung ribs, a long, straight back, a compact shoulder, and a slightly sloping pelvis. Correct leg conformation with strong pasterns and closed hooves. It has white, plain to wavy wool of medium fineness and a length of 4-7cm with two shearings per year. Very good fertility and suckling performance, with a well-developed and well-attached udder, as well as a pronounced maternal instinct. Due to its sure-footedness and climbing ability, it is particularly suited for alpine pastures.
Our animals are not on the farm from mid-May to mid-October. In spring and autumn, the animals graze in pastures on Stegerberg. Our sheep spend the summer on one of the highest alpine pastures in Obergurgl near the glaciers up to 3,000 meters above sea level. Here they enjoy pure relaxation and freedom.
Honey Bees
The bee is important for nature. During its foraging flights, it pollinates blossoms. More than half of our fruit trees and many flowers are fertilized by it. Humans use it as a honey supplier. Honey is healthy and tastes good. The bees live in so-called hives. Depending on the season and the strength of the colonies, different numbers of supers (tiers) are added. From May to July, the bees' treasure – the honey – can be harvested. In the apiary or an outdoor shelter on Stegerberg, Christoph has up to 10 colonies.

Whether in summer or winter, at Dorfhof you can enjoy your holiday in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Our bright 100 square meter holiday apartment, with a well-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, oven, electric stove with ceramic hob, microwave, cozy living room, dining room, 2 separate bedrooms offers space for 2 to 5 people. Bathroom with bathtub, shower, 2 washbasins and WC, as well as a separate WC with hand basin. The holiday apartment is equipped with bed linen, hand and bath towels, and tea towels. Also look forward to the large terrace, furnished with seating, and the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains as well as the Ehrenberg Castle Ruin, illuminated at night.
