Kune Kune Pigs
Originally from New Zealand, Kune Kune pasture pigs (meaning "fat and round" in Maori) are slow-growing and friendly. Our three sows are curious and always happy to receive visitors and a few gentle pats.
Altsteirer Chickens
These dual-purpose chickens are hardy and resilient, unfazed by wind and weather. Excellent foragers, they happily roam our meadows, pecking and scratching for food. Our flock also includes other chicken breeds. Young guests are welcome to collect their own breakfast eggs straight from the coop!
Blobe Goats
Our goats are robust, horned, and perfectly suited for mountainous terrain. The Blobe goat is one of the oldest mountain goat breeds, known for its resilience and friendly, curious nature. They love welcoming guests and are always happy to receive treats.
Other Farm Residents
Our farm is also home to two cats, while the endangered yellow-bellied toads can be found in our biotope. The streams surrounding the Brenner-Sacherl are inhabited by protected stone crayfish, an important part of the local ecosystem.

The chalet Jochwand is set at an altitude of 820 m, about 6 km from the village centre of Bad Goisern in the direction of Hochmuth. It is perched on a hill, boasting an awe-inspiring mountain panorama. Start in the centre of Bad Goisern and go past the supermarket “Unimarkt”. Please follow the road sign “Nordisches Zentrum” (Nordic ski centre) and go past the yellow protestant church. Cross the Traun river and turn right after the bridge. Continue for 50 m, then turn left and follow the road straight ahead.
Road signs will lead the way on the crossroads to come. If you start thinking whether or not you’re on the right track or you’re about to go back the way you came from - that means you’re on the right way. Usually, your navigation system will lead the way to chalet Jochwand if you’ve entered the address “Muth 13” in 4822 Bad Goisern.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Should your navigation system lead you through a small part of the village called “Weißenbach” and take you to a gravel road closed to all vehicles (round white road sign with a red edge), please do not continue! Ignore the instructions your navigation system gives you. This road is not suitable for cars. The road is in a bad condition. In winter, it may be dangerous. Please use the instructions mentioned in the text above to get to the chalet safe and sound.
