About Us

Our Chalet am Müllergut is located in St. Martin bei Lofer in Salzburger Land, nestled in the impressive mountain landscape of the Salzburger Saalachtal. Right next to the organic farm Müllergut, you can enjoy the tranquility of your own holiday home while being just a few minutes' walk from the village center. Lofer, Unken, and Saalfelden are within easy reach, and the city of Salzburg is about 45 km away.

In our chalet, you enjoy the freedom of your own house and at the same time the benefits of the adjacent organic farm Müllergut. Visit our cows, calves, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, and cats, discover authentic farm life, and savor farm-fresh products such as fresh organic dark bread, milk, and eggs. Our bread roll service at Müllergut ensures a relaxed start to your day.

🛏️ Plenty of Space to Feel Good

The cozy chalet offers 115 m² of space for up to 10 people and is ideal for families or friends. Plenty of reclaimed wood, a comfortable tiled stove, and the loving furnishings create a warm, feel-good atmosphere. The spacious living area invites you to cook and relax together. Upstairs, you'll find one double room, one triple room, and one five-bed room. On the sun terrace with garden furniture, loungers, and a grill, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the mountains. After an active day of vacation, the infrared cabin invites you to relax.

🌾 Tradition & Enjoyment

As a guest of the chalet, you benefit from the offerings of the traditional organic farm Müllergut, which has been family-owned since 1658 and organically farmed since 1962. The home-grown grain is milled in the historic mill and processed into fresh organic dark bread – a living tradition you can taste.

☀️ Summer in Salzburger Land

Numerous experiences await you around the chalet. Discover the mountains while hiking or mountain biking, enjoy scenic tours in the Almenwelt Lofer, or experience action with rafting and canyoning on the Saalach. Families can look forward to an excursion to Lamprechtshöhle, a swimming day at Alpenbad Unken, or relaxed barbecue evenings on their own sun terrace. As a guest, you also benefit from the free Salzburger Saalachtal Card with many attractive advantages.

In winter, varied holiday days await you in the snow-covered mountain world. Spend relaxed skiing days in the Almenwelt Lofer, enjoy a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride, explore the region by snowshoeing or winter hiking, and discover the perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails. After an eventful day, your chalet with its tiled stove and infrared cabin invites you to relax and feel good.

Farm products and catering

As a guest of our chalet, you benefit from the farm's own products from the organic farm Müllergut. On the farm, it is sown, milled, and baked: From self-grown rye and wheat, fresh organic black bread is made every week. The grain is milled in the historic mill directly opposite the farm and then traditionally processed into delicious bread – from the grain to the finished loaf, all from our own hands.

Depending on the season and availability, you can also enjoy fresh milk and eggs directly from the farm. Start your day relaxed with our bread roll service, which brings fresh pastries directly to your chalet.

Animals

As a guest of our chalet, you are cordially invited to get to know farm life at the adjacent organic farm Müllergut. Around 50 Holstein Friesian dairy cows and their calves live there. The Holstein Friesian is one of the most famous dairy breeds in the world and is known for its black and white coat pattern, its calm nature, and its excellent milk yield. In summer, many cows and calves spend the warm season on the farm's own alpine pasture amidst the Almenwelt Lofer.

In addition to the dairy cows, the farm is also home to rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, and cats, who are particularly happy about curious visitors. Children can observe and feed the animals, and pet the tame cats and rabbits. This way, a holiday in the chalet is combined with a real farm experience for the whole family.

Sustainability

Sustainability has been a way of life at Bio-Bauernhof Müllergut for generations. As early as 1962, the farm was converted to an organic-biological farming method. On the farm's own fields, rye and wheat grow, which are ground in the historic mill and processed into fresh organic dark bread. The approximately 50 dairy cows are fed with hay from their own production. A farm's own hydroelectric power plant generates environmentally friendly electricity, while a wood chip heating system sustainably supplies the farm with heat. As a guest of our chalet, you will enjoy a holiday that combines regionality, short distances, and a responsible approach to nature.
