Spending time together with your family – where nature and personal bonds are the focus? In that case, you are certain to feel completely at home at our Burgstallalm. Here with us, you can forget the hectic daily routine back home, simply enjoying the tranquility here and recharging your batteries.

With boundless love, we have managed to create a precious gem in a beautiful location, just above St. Michael im Lungau and at the foot of the Speiereck (elev. 2411 m). Our Burgstallalm is a little removed from the village at ca. 1200 m above sea level, lying completely undisturbed behind the ruins of a castle and above a canyon, though still conveniently close to everything you might need. You can drive up to 700 meters below the hut. This is followed by farm path which, depending on the weather and your driving abilities, can be used to drive all the way up to the hut itself. That said, we will be more than happy to help you transport your luggage as needed!

We have lovingly restored the interior of the hut. A wood-fired kitchen oven and heating stove provide cozy warmth in both the kitchen area and parlor.

Right in front of the hut next to the fountain is a hot tub, that can be “fired up” whenever you need it. A great way to relax after a day out hiking, enjoying the evening sunshine in the warm water.

The town center of St. Michael im Lungau – with its shops, restaurants, swimming pool, tennis court etc. – is just 1 km away. St. Michael is the ideal starting point for hiking or biking tours of the Lungau, to alpine tarns, side valleys and friendly mountain huts.
