Experience the Farm

On our 9-hectare organic farm, you can explore nature and all our animals. Currently living on our farm are Southdown Babydoll sheep, donkeys, ducks, Brahma and Silkie chickens, a dog and a cat, as well as plenty of wildlife. A small pond with its own jetty invites you to relax. Whether enjoying a peaceful getaway, helping out on the farm, or discovering Carinthia – our farm has something for everyone.

Our cozy garden apartment with a covered terrace and direct access to the cottage garden is located on our farm, newly built in 2024. You are welcome to use the large cottage garden. In addition, we offer you a small, rustic cottage that has been freshly renovated and romantically furnished. It has its own private garden and is the perfect retreat for a relaxing holiday. Both accommodations feature their own wood-burning stove in the spacious kitchen-living room. The necessary firewood is available to you free of charge.

We at the Brahmahof are very animal-friendly and environmentally conscious, and we have created our organic farm as a place of relaxation and encounter.

The farm is located on a hill, in a very quiet and private environment, yet only 7 minutes by car from Völkermarkt. Klagenfurt and Lake Klopein can each be reached in just 25 minutes by car. There are many hiking and cycling trails on the hill and in the plains. Skiing, downhill biking, and hiking are possible at the Petzen, which is a 30-minute drive away.

We would like to point out that, for insurance reasons, we unfortunately cannot accommodate children under the age of 12. There are open bodies of water in the immediate vicinity of the farm, which must remain accessible to our animals, which is why we cannot secure them. We hope for your understanding and are happy to answer any further questions.

We live together with Timmy the cat, donkeys Apollo 13 and Abahatchi, Southdown Babydoll sheep Asterix, Alfi, Amadeus, Pistacchio, Granberry, Anton, and Admiral with the ladies Coconut, Cherry, Ana, Alma, Cleopatra, and Amelie, Brahma rooster Erich with the ladies Leni, Dotti, Babsy, and family, Silkie chickens Heinrich with Regina, Elly, Tanja, Sjaantje, and children, and our Saxony ducks Tommy, Tim, Luis, Laura, and Sarah with their children.

This charming apartment is located entirely on the ground floor and has its entrance directly in the idyllic cottage garden, where the inviting, covered terrace with sun protection is also located. The bathroom is equipped with a barrier-free shower, and both the bedroom and living room offer ample space for comfortable wheelchair maneuvering. The apartment was completed in 2024 with great attention to detail and stylishly newly furnished. Many historical elements have been carefully preserved, perfectly blending the charm of bygone times with modern comfort. The house is stylishly furnished and features a cozy wood-burning stove in the living room as well as a traditional wood-fired stove in the kitchen, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A special highlight is the skylight in the bedroom, which offers a magical view of the starry night sky. The small, well-kept garden features two terraces: one opens up a picturesque view of the valley, while the other invites you to enjoy quiet moments looking out at the animals in the open stable.

Whether arriving via the motorway from the direction of Graz or Klagenfurt, take the Völkermarkt Ost exit towards Griffen. After 50 (100) meters, turn sharp left towards Gletschach; in Gletschach, turn left towards Haimburg. In Haimburg, immediately after Gasthof Kilian, turn right towards Haimburgerberg. After 1.6 km, turn left at the intersection, and after another 30 meters, turn right onto the gravel road. After approx. 300 meters, you will reach our farm.
