About Us

An extraordinary time, in a special place -
Comfortable hut time with the whole family in Laternsertal!

Our newly equipped hut for up to 10 people is beautifully nestled at an altitude of approx.

approx. 1200 metres above sea level, 10 to 15 minutes' walk from the valley station of the Laterns 4-seater chairlift, in the picturesque Laternsertal valley.

It is the ideal starting point for extensive hikes and mountain bike tours.

The nearby forest playground and the summer toboggan run offer a varied programme for the whole family.

After an eventful day, you can enjoy the peace and quiet around the campfire in front of the hut, surrounded by lush meadows with a marvellous view of the Laternsertal mountains.

Farm products and catering

In the neighbourhood you can buy fresh milk, dairy products, eggs and meat and sausage products directly from regional producers. A walk to the Mathis farm dairy is well worth it!

The local supermarket ADEG is a 20-minute walk away in the village.

Restaurants and a kiosk can be reached within a 10-minute to 1.5-hour walk.

I will be happy to give you tips and information on site.

Animals

In summer our neighbor brings about 20 sheep to the pasture around the Birihof.

These move freely over the entire property. The entrance to the Birihof and the barbecue area are of course fenced off to avoid any sheep droppings for you.

Comfortable hut time with the whole family!

In the newly equipped Birihof you will find a kitchen-living room, a cosy living room with a pull-out couch, a bedroom with double bunk beds for up to 8 people, a newly renovated bathroom with shower and a large storage room.
Of course, our hut has hot and cold water as well as an electricity connection.
We are happy to provide a cot and high chair.
There is plenty of space around the hut for games, campfires or simply relaxing in a deckchair.

In summer it is possible to drive directly to the hut.

Arrival

By car

When you arrive in Vorarlberg (A), take the A14/E60 Rheintal- und Walgauautobahn motorway in the direction of Rankweil. Leave the motorway at exit 35 Rankweil. Turn left onto Appenzeller Straße in the direction of Rankweil. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Hadeldorfer Straße and follow the road until you reach the Ringstraße junction. Turn left onto Ringstraße or Stiegstraße. After a good 200 metres, turn right onto Allemannenstraße (towards Furkapass) and follow the road for 1.2 kilometres. Keep right and follow Laternser Straße for 11.5 kilometres. Drive through the centre of Laterns / Innerlaterns, past the church/ADEG and then take a sharp left towards the valley station of the Laterns-Gaphol ski area (lift / Hofstraße). At the last right-hand bend before the Laterns ski lifts, drive straight on past Haus Marienruh along a gravel road to the next entrance on the right and you will then be directly in front of the Birihof.

 

by train/bus

Take the train to Rankweil via Feldkirch or Bregenz. There you change to the Landbus 65, which will take you comfortably to Laterns-Liftstraße.

 

By aeroplane

From the nearest airports St. Gallen (Altenrhein), Zurich, Memmingen, Friedrichshafen and Munich you can reach us by train/bus or the airport shuttle services.
