Farm dog Priska lies relaxed next to the cat in front of the farm door and enjoys the peace. The cows graze contentedly on the pastures around the farm.
The Gail River nature recreation area is in the immediate vicinity, and the Gail cycle path awaits adventurous cyclists!! Many hikes and mountain tours can be started right on our doorstep! Our organic mountain farm is situated in the midst of untouched nature in a secluded location on the "sunny side" of the Gailtal valley. Well-cleared roads lead you from St. Daniel just 3km up to the "Rübenstöffl". Three cozily furnished holiday apartments invite you to linger, relax, and unwind after an extensive day of skiing or a breathtaking ski tour, e.g. up to the Jaukenalm.
Winter equipment for your car is mandatory, and carrying suitable snow chains is highly recommended!
Guided ski tours to the peaks of the Carnic and Gailtal Alps can be booked through both the Austrian Alpine Club (ÖAV) and private mountain and ski guides. Of course, we are happy to assist you with the selection.
Snowshoeing - the absolute trend! With us, you can start a snowshoe hike right from the front doorstep. Whether you choose to go with a professional walking instructor (bookable on-site) or on your own is entirely up to you.
The access points to our municipality's perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails are also easily reached after just a 10-minute drive. Trail maps are available upon request.
Our multi-award-winning, farm-own organic products such as wood-fired bread, butter, milk, natural and fruit yogurt, eggs, curd cheese, curd cheese spread and curd cheese balls in oil, jams, juices, and homemade schnapps are available fresh daily for our guests in our small farm shop. Our farm has been managed as a certified organic business since 1996. And this organic philosophy will accompany you every day during your stay, from our own farm drinking water spring to the soap in the bathroom.
And when the last rays of sunshine disappear behind the opposite mountain peaks in the evening, a fantastic holiday day at the Weger mountain farm slowly comes to an end in the cozy kitchen of your holiday apartment...
With great love and dedication, we produce various foods directly on our farm. It gives us great pleasure to refine raw materials into high-quality products. You can purchase these fresh daily in the best organic quality from us:
Milk, butter, eggs, natural and fruit yogurt, fruit whey, curd cheese (Topfen), curd cheese spreads with herbs and Liptauer style, white mold cheese "Weiße Rübe", wood-fired bread and authentic Carinthian Reindling, granola nut crunchy muesli, homemade schnapps and egg liqueur, beef salami and veal liver spread.
Furthermore, jam, syrup, and Gailtaler Almkäse PDO.
As a service for our guests, we also offer some delicacies from friendly local producers:
Gailtal organic honey, organic pasta, organic spelt flour, and organic sunflower oil.
We are particularly proud that we have already achieved several awards at state-wide product competitions, for example, four gold medals and one bronze for some of our dairy products in summer 2021, and two gold medals for our Liptauer spread and white mold cheese in summer 2024!
As a special service, we can carbonate our own farm spring water with soda upon request. Elegant water bottles are available in every holiday apartment for this purpose.
Around 40 cattle live on our farm all year round. The calves are born during the winter months, and in summer the animals are out in the pasture. A few of them are allowed to go on “holiday” and spend the summer on the Jaukenalm. Every summer we also have cows on one of the alpine pastures of the 13 Gailtal alpine dairies, from where we receive the delicious Gailtal alpine cheese in autumn.
In addition, there are our chickens who are responsible for your breakfast egg, some cats and of course our farm dog “Priska” who always greets you enthusiastically and looks forward to every cuddle.
In the mornings and evenings, during stable times (around 5:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.), we tend to our dairy cows in the barn. Come and visit us and see exactly where the milk comes from!
You are also welcome to go for a walk with our “Priska”. Please be sure to keep her on a leash; just ask us about it and nothing will stand in the way of your outing.

Extra: If you are only two people, or are traveling with a toddler sleeping in your room, for example, it is also possible to book the apartment with only one bedroom. Coming from the direction of Munich/Salzburg:
A10 Tauern motorway to the Lendorf exit, B100 Drautal federal road to Oberdrauburg, then as above.
In St. Daniel:
Turn off at the small bridge at the signpost: Goldberg, Monsell Rüben and follow the mountain road for 2 km; in the forest at the sign "Urlaub auf dem Bauernhof bei Familie Weger", turn right and follow the road for 1 km.
If you would like to arrive by train, we will be very happy to pick you up from the station in Oberdrauburg!
