About Us
WELCOME – a holiday with friends at BAUERNHAUS BICHL!
An claim quickly confirmed, since the greeting you receive when you arrive will be so heartfelt, you cannot fail to feel right at home. The character of this old farmhouse, not least due to its loving details, is extraordinarily warm and cozy.
The spacious kitchen with its traditional tile stove as well as the pine-paneled parlor practically embrace you. Your view from the balcony drops far into the valley, out towards either St. Johann im Pongau or Wagrain. Our cats, small dog, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, goats and calves all love to play and cuddle with youngsters especially.
We, your host family at the Bichlhof, ourselves lived in this house until just recently. Meanwhile, our entire family has moved into a new building close by. Though we continue to operate the farm and old farmhouse just as before. Furthermore, we are always available to provide our guests with tips and all the information they might need. The Bichlhof is also dedicated to offering a child-friendly experience for the enjoyment of all!

Holidays begin where the children are happy! Mom and dad get to unwind completely, while the children have nonstop fun and games! Come and enjoy “nothing” but glorious mountain air … and let the kids be kids!
In summer, you can spend relaxed hours on our sunbathing lawns, while your youngsters explore to their heart’s content on a playground with slide, swings, trampoline, sand box, scooter, trike, push-car, pedal tractor and a small water trough.
Here with us, children can simply scamper away and play.

Here with us, winter sports fans find everything they need for a perfect ski holiday in Austria: magical pistes and runs, traditional mountain huts, top-notch hotels with extensive wellness facilities, snow parks for youth, cross-country ski trails, sledding hills and more. And whenever you aren’t in the mood for winter sports – the small town of Sankt Johann invites you to go shopping, while even an excursion to Salzburg, the world-famous “City of Mozart”, is a virtually effortless undertaking.
In winter – in addition to the big ski areas in Wagrain and St. Johann-Alpendorf – our local ski area next to the Hahnbaum lifts is a huge hit. Focused on families, including special offers, also boasting a 3.5 km floodlit sled run, parents really appreciate this more “intimate” ski area. The region is also ideal for ski tourers. The Hahnbaum touring route, in particular, is an outstanding tip.
Homemade butter, organic yogurt, wonderful jams, fresh apple juice, bread and, of course, delicious milk from our own farm … yum!

For animal lovers, there is so much to see and experience here on our year-round farm.
We have lots of animals here for you to pamper! You are also invited to step into the barn (home to rabbits, cats, guinea pigs, sheep, dwarf goats, calves, cows etc.), where you can feed and pet them, watch us do the milking, etc.
8 cows are milked twice a day, every day, and also spend summer at the farm, meaning you can watch us milk them and drink some of their fresh milk yourself!
