The centuries-old stone house with its original Carinthian ceiling and vaulting has been fully restored, plastered with clay, and renovated using sustainable materials. This ensures a unique indoor climate and a pleasant quality of sleep, both in winter and summer.

Then come and visit us at the Holzerhof!
The motto of our small farm is: "Spend your holiday in our oasis, where people, plants, and animals can flourish and grow." Here, everything thrives according to its natural rhythm, just as nature intended.
We, Andrea and David, live our duality at the Holzerhof: with us, you get a holiday in the town of Althofen and yet in the midst of nature. We run a farm with tradition and are open-minded. Here, you can enjoy the peace and quiet on your own or with your family and learn about the natural way of life of permaculture at the Holzerhof.
Our holiday apartment is furnished with natural materials and offers modern comfort. The "Savoy" holiday apartment offers plenty of space with 95 m2 and brings a feeling of freedom. We renovated the two bedrooms, the kitchen with dining and living area, as well as the bathroom using natural materials. Clay, wood, and natural stone offer a special ambience, and the copper wall heating leads to a pleasant sense of well-being.
And by the way: we also have a nature cinema for you: in your garden, you have a view of our chickens: including Sulmtaler, Sundheimer, and the magnificent Vorwerk rooster. Indian Runner ducks, and the ducks with many names: Muscovy, Barbary, or silent ducks, bring to life all film genres from thriller to comedy. And quite a few have made friends with our Mangalica pigs.

Animals
Our animals here on the farm also enjoy a wonderful life: the Krainer Steinschaf sheep have more than enough space to run around, the Muscovy ducks can keep an eye on things from high up in the walnut tree, and the chickens of various breeds can breed with one another.

Savoy

The apartment features a spacious, high, and elegant hallway that brings a sense of freedom. A large, cozy kitchen-cum-living room invites you to linger. The bedroom with a double bed and a desk offers plenty of peace and quiet, as well as a view of the garden, where you can sometimes see the Muscovy ducks sleeping in the walnut tree. The other bedroom is equipped with a bunk bed, where the bottom bed is 1.40 m wide and can also be used for 2 people if you like it cozy. With a bit of luck, you can spot the Mangalica pigs from the top bunk. The bathroom with a toilet and shower is extraordinary, as the moisture from showering activates the scent of the clay, creating a unique close-to-nature experience.

Arrival
By train:
The Treichbach Althofen stop is 1.5 km away from us. It takes about 20 minutes on foot. Alternatively, you can take a taxi, e.g., Hofstätter (04262/37111), the "Ruf:mi" shared taxi (+43 4262 93 0 83), or the bus (www.kaernten-bus.at/fahrplaene St. Veit-Althofen) to the "Althofen Aich Gh Jonke" stop, which is located 100 meters from our house.
St. Veit/Glan or Friesach are also possible stops, from where you can again take a bus or taxi to reach us.
From Klagenfurt, you can rent a car at the train station with Rail&Drive to get to us and travel around the area.
Exit stop Treibach-Althofen, the walking distance is about 2 km, so around 20 minutes.
By car:
From the city center heading towards Friesach on Friesacher Strasse, our farm is located about 500 meters on the right after the Hofer supermarket. Shortly before the town sign, you will see the house and stable buildings.
Coming from Friesach, past Töscheldorf Castle on Friesacher Straße, take the first entrance on the left after the town sign.
