The Angerhütte is idyllically located on the Spielbergalm in the Tennengau region, right in the heart of the beautiful Salzburger Land. Surrounded by the impressive Osterhorn mountain range and far away from the hustle and bustle, this charming mountain hut at around 1,200 meters above sea level offers a peaceful retreat – whether for a weekend escape or a longer break in nature.

This rustic self-catering hut sleeps 1 to 5 people and is perfect for couples, small families or friends looking for something truly authentic. Wood, silence, fresh alpine air and the crackling of the wood stove – here you’ll experience alpine life just like in the old days.

🪵 Simple living – with everything you need

At the heart of the hut is a cozy living room with a wood-burning stove. Right next to it is a fully equipped kitchen with electric stove, coffee machine, kettle, pots, dishes and glasses. The bathroom includes a shower, sink and toilet – simple, clean and functional. Outside, you'll find a small seating area and a grill – perfect for warm summer evenings with a view of the surrounding mountains.

☀️ Summer activities right outside your door

Whether hiking, mountain biking or collecting wild herbs – in summer, your nature experience starts right at the doorstep. Numerous trails lead through alpine meadows to scenic viewpoints and rustic mountain huts. Especially beautiful: a walk to the nearby Spielbergalm chapel, a peaceful spot with stunning views over the valley. On hot days, a trip to the nearby Hintersee lake is the perfect way to cool off and relax.

❄️ Winter – calm, clear & authentic

In winter, the hut is only accessible on touring skis or snowshoes – it lies directly along a popular ski touring route. Sledding and winter hiking are also possible in the area. A special highlight: an evening lantern walk through the snow, when the stars shine above and everything is silent underfoot. The beginner lift nearby is great for kids and those new to skiing.

There’s no Wi-Fi here – but plenty of wood, candlelight, and a sky full of stars. The perfect place for a peaceful winter retreat.

🚗 Getting there & special details

Arrival is via Hallein or Thalgau, heading toward Krispl-Gaissau. Meeting point is the Oberanger farm (Mitterangerweg 50, Krispl). From there, you’ll continue on the Spielberg toll road. You’ll receive a remote control to open the gate and drive free of charge directly to the hut.

🐾 Pets welcome

Dogs and other pets are warmly welcome. The open alpine surroundings offer plenty of space to roam – for both two- and four-legged guests.
