About Us
Our farm ALTROITERHOF is set above the village of St. Wolfgang with a breathtaking view of the prominent church tower, the beautiful blue waters of Lake Wolfgangsee and the surrounding mountains. Enjoy your well-deserved holiday on our quiet and idyllic farm, home to Haflinger horses that draw our carriage, rabbits, cats and “Obelix”, our good-natured pony, everybody’s darling. Find a diverse programme for children and adults in the centre of St. Wolfgang (a 5 min’ walk): classes for tennis, golf, surfing, water skiing, sailing and horse-riding, balloon tours, swimming and much more.

Our history
Our family is constantly seeking to celebrate the Upper Austrian hospitality and put cooperation between all family members in the centre of attention. After all, three generations live on our farm Altroiterhof.
In our historic village, our farm Altroiterhof or Altroitgut has always been famous among locals and guests from around the world for its stunning location, peacefully set high above the village centre and featuring an unrivalled view.
Our farm Altroiterhof is located in the Salzkammergut region, on the northern shore of the famous Lake Wolfgangsee, at the foot of the mountain Schafberg. Facing south on a hillside of 620 m, our farm looks back on 600 years of history: It was first mentioned in 1416. The farm was built for “Anna, daughter of the Zauner family from Altreut”. It has been owned by our family for more than 200 years.
Our highlight: The breathtaking view of picturesque Lake Wolfgangsee. There’s no other place where you can take in such a marvellous view of this gem in the Salzkammergut region. Take a seat on our sunny panoramic terrace, relax in a lounger or on the private balcony. The unrivalled scenery with the pilgrimage church in the village, the scenic Lake Wolfgangsee and the mountains of the inner Salzkammergut region will make you stand in awe!
Hospitality, locally grown food and sustainability
We have renovated and expanded our traditional farmhouse, adding exclusive-traditional modern chalets, apartments and deluxe double rooms. We celebrate the Upper Austrian hospitality - local cooperations and economic sustainability are our top priorities. These values are not mere keywords. We live by these principles every day.
At the moment, Marianne and Johann senior run the farm. Johann junior, Marianne’s and Johann’s son, will soon take over the farm and take care that our house continues to be home, safe haven and family treasure.

Enjoy your well-deserved holiday on our quiet and idyllic organic farm, home to Haflinger horses that draw our carriage, rabbits, cats and “Moritz”, our good-natured pony, everybody’s darling. In winter, our place is a great starting point for your skiing holiday. The ski resorts Postalm and Dachstein-West can easily be accessed by shuttle service (FREE to Dachstein-West) or by car.

A Good Start for a Good Day
A delightful breakfast will make you rejoice and energise. It’s a prerequisite for a good start of the day. Our ample breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. We serve plenty of locally grown, home-made and fresh culinary delights. Among others, we serve fresh bread and rolls, spreads, home-made jams, a selection of cold cuts and cheeses.
Most of the products are sourced directly from our farmers, butchers and bakers in St. Wolfgang and surroundings.
On our farm, you can have breakfast on the sunny panoramic terrace or in our cosy country-style living room.
Breakfast from 8.00 until 10.00.
