Rustic outside and cosy inside. The Kohlenau Hut was lovingly renovated in summer 2016. The kitchen is the heart of the hut with a cosy sitting area, a wood stove for cooking and heating and a fully equipped spacious kitchen. The new bathroom with washbasin, shower and toilet offers our guests some "luxury" on the alpine pasture. A staircase leads up to the first floor with two small bedrooms as well as an anteroom with double floor and integrated reading and cuddling corner.
Our panoramic terrace is equipped with a spacious garden set and on comfortable sun loungers you can enjoy the magnificent view from the Kohlenau alpine hut to the mountain world of the Kitzbühel Alps.

Our alpine hut is only rented in summer, as it is unfortunately not accessible in winter.
We are looking forward to your visit!
A holiday on the alpine pasture doesn't just mean experiencing it, but also tasting the delicious products produced on our farm and in the region.
We process the fruit from our orchard into schnapps, liqueurs, and jams. We also press naturally cloudy apple juice from our numerous apple trees, and from our large cottage garden, we primarily process zucchini into a tasty chutney.
We make refreshing syrup from the elderberry blossoms.
Our cows spend their summer retreat on the Niederkaseralm, where their milk is processed into mountain cheese, which we also offer all year round on our farm. In addition, you will be welcomed with a small selection of our farm products upon arrival.
From the end of August to the beginning of October our calves spend a few weeks on the "Kohlenau".
In summer our dairy cows are on the "Niederkaseralm" and our 1 and 2 year old young animals (our offspring) are on the "Salzach" young cattle farm.
At our farm "Drittlhof" you are welcome to visit our chickens and petting animals in summer.

Our rustic alpine hut "Kohlenau" offers space for 4 - 6 persons. 2 small but nice double rooms, 1 bunk bed with reading corner on the first floor. One of the bedrooms has room for a cot. New bathroom with washbasin, shower and toilet.
Cooking and living room with sitting area, wood stove for cooking and heating, fully equipped kitchenette with Soda Stream. Small refrigerator available. Bed linen, towels, tea towels on site.
We welcome you with a welcome bag with regional products.

The access to the alpine hut Kohlenau leads over an asphalt road and a well developed gravel road. In front of the hut there are sufficient parking possibilities. Easily accessible by normal car (no sports versions).
The region around Kitzbühel combines sophisticated charm with rural tradition. Gentle grassy mountains, historic towns, and diverse activities make it a year-round destination.
