About Us

Welcome to the alpine hut "Schmiedsippl-Hütte"!

The self-catering hut is located within the UNESCO World Heritage Area Gosau am Dachstein on an altitude of 1300 meters. You will find it in a quiet setting, on a forest glade, far away from the noise and traffic from the city. Start lots of wonderful hiking and biking tours from here!

A hike to the lake Löckersee, for example, rewards you with a magnificent view of the mountain range Gosaukamm. If you fancy a longer tour, you can hike to the alpine huts Plankensteinalm or Rossalm or even climb the mountain Plassen.

The ancient grindstone quarries are only a 20 minutes' walk through the forest. There, you can savour regional delicacies in the restaurant Badstubnhütte. If you continue walking on the loop trail, you will either pass the hut Rubalm and the so-called Wildfrauenloch or walk by lake Löckersee and finally reach the alpine hut Triebnerhütte where you'll also get a snack.

The Schmiedsippl-Hütte can be booked from the end of May until the end of October (depending on the weather). It can be reached by car via a forest road.

Feels like visiting friends in the heart of the holiday region "Inneres Salzkammergut"!

From spring onwards, you can see a number of animals on the alpine pastures, mainly animals living in the wild such as rabbits, squirrels and roe deer. If you're lucky, you can even spot the capercaillie cocks courting.

During summer, the cows sometimes stroll past the hut with their calves.

The exciting times start in autumn when the mating season of the red deer begins.

The alpine hut "Schmiedsippl-Hütte" is a type of self-catering accommodation.

The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, cutlery, tableware, teacups and glasses. For a pleasant ambience, heat up the hut with the wooden stove incl. oven and boiler. Firewood available. Electricity (max. 500 watt) for the coffee machine and lighting.

Running cold water supply, hot water at your disposal from the boiler in the wooden stove. Play games with your family or friends in the cosy seating corner.

Amenities in the bathroom: shower, sink and hot running water from the gas boiler. Please bring your own towels and toiletries. Toilet in the rustic outhouse.

Bedroom on the first floor with 2 double beds and 2 single beds. Lovely barbecue area in front of the hut.
