How to reach us: 11 km from Mörtschach, 5 km of which on a gravel road

Many years ago, we’ve specialised in producing organic milk from cows fed on the products of our meadows only. Our cows bring birth to their calves in autumn and provide us with their valuable milk afterwards. Every year in May, our cows are driven up to the alpine pastures. High up there, they spend their well-deserved holidays. Only one cow is milked during summer. It’s the source for dairy products such as milk, butter and cheese that we need ourselves. After a nice summer on our farm, our pigs provide us with meat and bacon. Our hens are busy laying eggs. Whenever I’ve got time, I bake traditional bread myself. Nature provides us with lots of different ingredients. We use them for making spirits and jams.

We’ve already mentioned that different animals call our farm their home. Our cows spend their summer on the alpine pastures next to the mountain cabin. There, our guests will be greeted by the bell of the cow that leads the herd. My two Haflinger horses also roam up there. They are my pride and joy and make a lot of children’s (and adults’) hearts leap for joy. Of course, you can visit and pet the horses and cows but please only do so when the owner is with you. Guests are also invited to keep me company when I’m milking the cows every morning. Especially our young guests really enjoyed this the last few years because some children have never been that close to a cow. On our farm, our Sulmtaler chicken and rooster (a heritage breed), two cats, two pigs and a dog hold the fort. You’re welcome to pay these animals a visit.
