At our farm three generations take care that you enjoy your vacation.
Elisabeth, Josef and their three children, Hannah, Martin and Manuel with the children-in-law Carmen and Julian, as well as grandma Erika make sure that you recover from everyday life at the Simader farm.
Already the journey up to the lush green hills promises good things. Idyllic and away from all the hustle and bustle, the Simader farm is located on a hill surrounded by fruit trees and meadows with spectacular panoramic views all the way to the foothills of the Alps. Before you start your hike directly from the farm, enjoy a fortifying breakfast in the cozy farmhouse parlor. Of course, the food comes from the farm's own products.
In the cozy arbor in the courtyard, the day ends with apple juice, cider and schnapps, which is made by the hosts themselves. The many regular guests at the Simader farm appreciate the cozy atmosphere at the Sigl family and enjoy extended hikes in the varied primeval landscape of the surrounding area. The hosts are of course happy to share their knowledge of special vantage points and hiking destinations with their guests.
The weaver's village Haslach an der Mühl with its museums worth seeing, textile center, sound factory, merchant's museum, as well as the annual, traditional weaver's market is only 3.5 km away.
The "Granitpilgern-Wanderweg" on about 90 kilometers of the upper Mühlviertel, with impressive power places, leads directly past our farm.

At our farm three generations take care that you enjoy your winter vacation.
Elisabeth, Josef and their three children, Hannah, Martin and Manuel, as well as the grandmother make sure that you relax from everyday life at the Simader farm.
Already the journey up to the hilly Bohemian Forest promises good things. Idyllic and away from all the hustle and bustle, the Simader farm is located on a hill with spectacular panoramic views all the way to the foothills of the Alps.
Building snowmen, sledding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, skiing... winter in the Bohemian Forest is very versatile! Our farm is ideally located between the two ski areas Hochficht and Sternstein, both very popular with families. Each of the two ski areas can be reached in about half an hour by car.
Also about 30 minutes from the farm is the Nordic Center Bohemian Forest with its 78 km of cross-country ski trails, which is close to the Czech border. And if this is not enough for you, you can enjoy the entire network of cross-country skiing trails in the Šumava region, which comprises 148 km of excellently prepared trails (78 km of high-altitude trails and 70 km of downhill trails) in good snow conditions.
Before a strenuous day of winter sports, it is best to fortify yourself with a breakfast in our cozy farmhouse parlor. The food comes of course from the farm's own products.
The regular guests at the Simader farm appreciate the relaxing atmosphere at the Sigl family and enjoy the winter (sports) offer in the surroundings of the farm. The hosts are happy to inform about the offer in the region and give special tips.
Delicious farm products await you at the Simader farm:
From milk, butter, curd, yogurt, eggs, bacon and potatoes, nothing stands in the way of physical well-being. And to drink there is naturally cloudy apple juice, cider and schnapps - of course from the farm's own fruit and grain!
We get honey from our neighbor's bees and we also have our own source of drinking water.
Are you curious how milk can be processed? Then you are exactly right with us! From the milk of our cows we produce butter, skimmed curd, cream cheese and yogurt.
The cow-warm milk is centrifuged, i.e. separated into cream and skim milk. The cream is churned into butter and the skimmed milk is used to make curd. And finally there's fresh homemade butter on fresh bread - mmhhm!!!
And of course there's our farm's own products at our farmhouse breakfast!
Cow fans take note: Since October 2021, our 21 dairy cows have been enjoying their new home. In their new barn, they can move freely and obviously feel at home! Of course, our cows are also allowed on the lush, green pasture.
The pregnant cows can give birth to their young in a spacious calving pen. We are always very happy about a newborn calf and they are "welcome"!
Our proud rooster resides among his chickens. And for breakfast there is a delicious egg for our guests.
