Tiroler Unterland

High-spirited, filled with a zest for life – the Unterland region of Tyrol is a mecca of song and music.

East of Innsbruck, the Inntal extends all the way to Kufstein. Spaciously laid-out fields and meadows leave their stamp on the countryside here, as do many businesses. In the areas which surround Kufstein and Kitzbühel, in particular, the Bavarian culture becomes clearly evident – both in the traditional building styles, as well as in folk customs and the people’s daily lives. Also in the Tiroler Unterland, we find towns with more of a city flavor, occasionally even with a hint of chic, next to smaller villages in a romantic setting. 

In a matter of minutes, you are able to escape the hustle and bustle for the seclusion of pristine countryside – only adding to the appeal of this region. High valleys, such as Wildschönau, nurture their traditional folk culture, whilst refined culinary specialties from farmhouse kitchens are to be found everywhere. Folk music and the joy of song both leave their stamp on the character of this region’s people.
