We live wine: Wines which live, a family which lives wine and guests who can experience wine. At Remushof Jagschitz, wine is a way of life which makes life worth living. This is something wine connoisseurs have known for many years.
Wine has been grown for 6 generations at Remushof Jagschitz.
The name Remus, which was the house name of our family for many years, dates back to 1684 according to Oslip chronicles. Due to generation change and the transfer of the operation in 2000, the old house name was revitalised. As a company and as a family the wine-growing estate is committed to its roots through the expansion of its operation while building on tried and tested structures. This includes intergenerational teamwork and the continual cultivation of ancient Burgenland-Croatian wine culture, along with the latest technological advances in wine-growing and cellar keeping.
The wine agendas were inherited by Dorothea and Franz Jagschitz from his parents, Franz and Cäcilia. Both have substantial training in food technology. With his experience of viticulture as a family operation, a vocational degree and practical training in agricultural consulting, Franz is an enologist par excellence. Dorothea, as the less-experienced wine-grower, discovered a love for wine after many years of experience in the food industry, and does her part in the presentation and sale of wines. The Jagschitz seniors are involved in the vineyard work with family-oriented harmony.
The expansion of the operation and the smallness of the cellar in the main building were the reason why the Jagschitz Family decided to rebuild the infrastructure. After an intensive planning phase, construction of the large building project began in May 2003.
The project included the reconstruction of the workshop, including a newly built sandstone vaulted cellar for tastings, and also the construction of guest rooms. Holidays on a vineyard offer a large range of activities. The family offers the hospitality that is typical of the Burgenland-Croatian lifestyle.
